Half a year ago, a couple visited me. The wife had a protruding jaw that affected her facial alignment, and she hoped surgery could improve it.
The husband was quite talkative. I asked him if he thought his wife's face wasn't attractive—a tricky question. He replied that after years of seeing it, he was accustomed to it, but if she wanted the surgery, they should proceed. It was a sweet response.
After evaluations by an orthodontist and 3D surgical simulations, the procedure was scheduled. Recently, the couple sent me a bag of roasted coffee beans. I learned they run a business selling coffee and beans. The wife was pleased with the results, noting her face looked softer and the lines had vanished.
I turned to her husband for his opinion. His expression changed dramatically, and he said she had lost her "murderous aura." He worried this would lead to business losses. I realized then that those facial lines served a purpose.
